Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Each and every day when students arrive to school, teachers notice and observe their behaviors at the start of the day. Often times, children struggle verbalizing their feelings.
Sometimes students needs a few moments to distract themselves with an output other than language.
With materials as such, students gain access to an outlet that can serve as a distraction from their current feelings and allows them to take control of the situation by using these fidget toys. Eventually, returning back to the daily tasks when they are ready.
As teachers, we make our best effort to help students communicate and share their feelings. However, sometimes that is not what our children need. Sometimes our kids need to go to a "calming corner" when our feelings get too big for our little ones to handle.
