Supporting Comprehension Through Authentic Texts

Help me give my students supplemental curriculum they need to delve deeper into meaningful texts and support their comprehension. Fluent, accurate reading is an imperative skill my dyslexic students need in order to live successful adult lives.

My Project

My students depend on public education to maximize their potential. They receive dyslexia therapy and other special education supports in order to have equitable access to their curriculum. Through dyslexia therapy, my students receive life-changing interventions.

The ability to read accurately, fluently, and with understanding is the most important skill these students need in order to maximize the success they achieve in adulthood.

These books will allow me to expand on the lessons I teach in order to increase comprehension of authentic texts. Exposure to these texts will increase their vocabulary, background knowledge, prosody, rate, accuracy, and confidence in their reading abilities.
