Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my classroom have all been diagnosed with autism. As a result, they are all nonverbal or minimally verbal. My main focus with my students is to improve their cognitive, social and language skills.
The proper classroom material is important to help my students stay focused and on task.
My goal as a teacher is to help my students learn in a loving environment and provide them with the best materials to promote learning. I would like to help all my students develop cognitively, socially and communicatively while in my classroom. Since my students are very sensory, I incorporate sensory toys and games in each lesson. Unfortunately, this becomes expensive which is why I am turning to Donors Choose. Please help me help my students.
My Project
The proper classroom materials are so important to have in the classroom. Materials such a laminating paper, velcro, and an easel are essential to creating interactive activities for children with autism.
These materials will help my students learn about math, writing, reading, social skills, ADL skills, behavior skills and so much more.
These materials run out quickly but are needed to constantly create new lesson plans that help my students learn and grow in all areas. These materials will also help make learning more fun and exciting. Your support will change the lives of 6 wonderful and loveable autistic children.
