This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are bright, creative, and full of potential. These tools that can help to support my students manage big emotions in a safe and positive way. This project will help create a calming sensory space in our classroom with the addition of a crash pad and a vibrating sensory toy.
The crash pad offers deep pressure input and a safe outlet for movement, helping students feel grounded and secure.
The vibrating toy provides calming tactile stimulation, which is especially helpful for students who need sensory input to soothe their nervous systems.
These tools will be available throughout the day to any student who needs a moment to reset, regain control, or simply feel more comfortable in their body. With access to these supports, students are better able to manage their emotions, increase their attention, and fully engage in learning.
