Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I service live in the South Bronx. Most of the students live below the poverty level and reside in public housing. Currently, I will be working with second grade students in an ICT setting. The population of the children in my class are either English language learners, students will disabilities and general education students.

This academic year my goal is to create a supportive learning environment in-person and/or remotely.

My Project

Teachers Pay Teachers is a wonderful resource that educators can access teacher created resources, that are aligned to the Common Core Standards. I plan to use the gift cards to purchase digital materials that I will be able to use in school and remotely. I will use the gift cards to purchase phonics, fluency and reading comprehension centers at various levels.

Teachers will face the challenge of supporting students at various levels due to the significant learning loss resulting from school closures.

These resources will allow me to plan instruction that is differentiated and specifically addresses the needs of all the students in my class.
