My students need gear for those who can not afford the essentials to wrestle, and our team needs extra workout equipment to make our workouts more dynamic.

My Students
Our student population is very diverse. Seventy-six percent of students belong to ethnic backgrounds that are of minority and many students come from low income families. These students are very open-minded and respectful to each other’s uniqueness. They are willing to try new things, show resiliency on a daily basis, and are able to effectively manage school work, extracurricular activities, and their jobs while keeping positive attitudes.
We have a strong group of young wrestlers with three returning state qualifiers and one returning third place finisher.
My Project
We are a growing team that competes against the best in the state throughout the season. Our team consistently placed in the bottom two of our league until this past season, where we took down four of our league opponents and placed third in league. We had four wrestlers qualify for the state tournament and had one wrestler place third in state. We have already begun our offseason lifting and freestyle practices to better prepare for next season. The offseason tournaments have already brought us success, with multiple wrestlers placing and one tournament champion.
With our recent success, we are expecting our numbers to grow and thus we need to support any new wrestler who walks into our wrestling room.
We need equipment such as wrestling shoes, face guards, sleeves, and head gear to support our growing population. We also need dynamic workout gear such as dip bars, medicine balls, and battle ropes to take our workouts to the next level.
