My Project

Math can be intimidating for many middle school students. Please help me create a supportive, welcoming, and interactive math classroom to give them the best possible environment for success. Many students are struggling to overcome the mathematical gaps formed by COVID-19; add on top of that the ever-present anxiety many experience when it comes to math, and we have mountains to climb. Additionally, we are seeing record numbers of students qualifying for special education with math goals.

If you've ever met a middle school student, you know sitting still and listening quietly is not their strong suit.

I try to balance getting students up out of their seats to work on Vertical Non-Permanent Surfaces (whiteboards) with seat work. On the days we're at our seats with our computer-based curriculum, having stretch bands/fidgets/alternative seating can help students maintain focus.

Providing all of my students with a safe, fun, and interactive math classroom can set them up for the success I know they can all achieve!
