My students need new cases for our larger instruments. When we travel with strings, cello and bass cases are not plentiful. Two additional stools would be a big help.

My Students

Our school orchestra has been around for over one hundred years. We have a large inventory of instruments that are in various states of disrepair. When we travel, protecting some of these aging instruments has become more important. High quality cases will help protect our investment for years.

Our school is a public high school in Idaho.

We have a long tradition of excellence, specifically from our orchestra students who have had recognition at the state, regional, and national level. Many of our instrumental music students go on to college or professional careers in music. We are extremely proud of our alumni and would like to continue to offer students the opportunity to excel.

My Project

I am asking to purchase some new travel cases for our school cellos and basses. We do not currently own enough cases to be able to safely transport our instruments when we travel out of town. With an aging inventory, protecting our investment is extremely important. I would like to be able to offer our students the opportunity to use our highest quality instruments when we go out of the building. The cases I am requesting are expensive, but will hold up for many years. This is a great investment in the future of our program.

Acquiring some new equipment through this grant will allow me to use our limited resources for things like sheet music.

Two new bass stools will greatly enhance the playing experience for some of my shorter string bass players. We currently own three, but the are for tall people. I'd like to support all of my students! Protecting our instruments is the main reason for requesting these funds. Thanks in advance for your generous support!
