This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our middle school is home to a diverse community of students, including many first and second-generation immigrant boys who often face unique challenges as they navigate both school and life in a new country. To support and empower these young men, we are launching an after-school club called TELOS (Together Exploring las Oportunidades para Sobresalir).
TELOS is designed to create a safe and supportive environment where these students can connect, grow, and thrive.
Through engaging activities, mentorship, and community-building exercises, the club will help students build confidence, develop leadership skills, and explore their academic and personal potential.
We will focus on nurturing their cultural identity, enhancing their English language skills, and providing opportunities for them to explore future career paths and educational goals. Our goal is to empower these boys to succeed in school and become leaders in their community.
To make TELOS a reality, we need your help. We seek funding for essential materials such as sports equipment, educational games, and cultural enrichment resources. These tools will allow us to create an enriching and dynamic program that keeps students engaged and excited about their future.
