This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year we have an unprecedented number of students living in shelters and other types of temporary housing. These families face daily challenges and need our support to help make life a little bit easier.

These materials will be given to our tenth grade families who are currently living in shelters.These school supplies and other resources, such as laundry detergent, winter clothing, and toiletries, will help to make sure our students have their basic needs met before they come to school each day.

We know that students cannot engage in learning if they are hungry, cold, or worried about their family. Thanks to your donation we will try to alleviate some of the intense financial pressures that families face in NYC.
