Students deserve a learning environment where they feel welcome and safe. The materials used in my classroom are essential in supporting student participation and ensuring an effective learning experience. I also use a reward-based system in my classroom to support and promote positive behaviors, literacy discussions, and purposeful group work. I want the rewards to reflect the hard work that my students put in day in and day out. Our students get motivated even more when they see our candy/snacks supplies restocked and when we show off the prizes they can win. We want to diversify the pool of prizes to increase the buy-in and excitement in our room. We've seen an increase in all the behaviors we want to see, we just want to keep this going forward throughout the rest of the school year.
