Dear Potential Donors,

At John Muir Middle School, we believe in fostering an inclusive environment where every student feels safe, valued, and empowered.

Our student-led Rainbow Club is at the forefront of this mission, providing a supportive space for LGBTQ+ students and their allies to explore identity, build community, and promote understanding.

The Rainbow Club is more than just a lunchtime gathering; it's a vital support system where students:

1. Share their journeys of self-discovery and acceptance

2. Learn about LGBTQ+ history and current events

3. Develop leadership skills through peer mentorship

4. Build lasting friendships based on mutual respect and shared experiences

In light of recent societal challenges, our students have expressed a strong desire to educate their peers about the impact of discrimination and bullying on LGBTQ+ youth. They aim to create a more informed, empathetic, and allied student body.

To achieve this goal, the Rainbow Club has identified several initiatives:

1. Design and produce club T-shirts for easy identification and to spark conversations

2. Create informative buttons with positive messages

3. Organize educational games with LGBTQ+ pride items as prizes

4. Provide resources for students to express their identities with pride
