My students need a rug and alternative seating to make the classroom a comfortable environment that supports their emotional growth. Our class also needs an easel and document camera to make our learning more efficient.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a high-poverty school, I have the unique opportunity to work with a group of thirty-three students from varying backgrounds who all contribute unique skills and experiences to our classroom.
Our class is made up of a multilingual and global community of learners, with over half the class speaking a language other than English at home.
These bright, innovative, spunky students are enthusiastic readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists and historians. Many of my students have experienced trauma at home and would greatly benefit from a welcoming classroom environment.
My Project
Learning should be a comfortable, fun, and rewarding process. All of the supplies that I am requesting further this goal in my classroom. Learning will take place at the rug, where my students can either sit on the ground, in chairs, or in the alternative seating that I am requesting. This choice is a crucial aspect of making learning fun and comfortable for my students. At the rug, we will use the easel and document camera for all types of learning, from brainstorming best actions to take during social conflict to dissecting a sheep's heat under that the camera.
All of these items make it possible for my students to experience learning the way it should be - fun, comfortable, and hassle free.
