This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project aims to improve the emotional well-being of high school students through interactive activities in Spanish classes. We will use whiteboards and board games as tools to keep scores and to develop communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork, while fostering a positive environment for mental health. Mental health is an increasingly important topic in high schools, where students often face academic pressures, social challenges, and personal stress. This project integrates mental health support into the Spanish classroom, providing a safe space where students can express themselves, engage in meaningful dialogue, and practice emotional regulation—all while learning a second language.

The whiteboards will be used for group activities that encourage students to share their thoughts, brainstorm solutions to common challenges, and practice Spanish vocabulary.

Meanwhile, board games will offer opportunities for students to work together, problem-solve, and engage in lighthearted competition, which can relieve stress and build strong peer relationships.
