Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Busy bees are what our kindergarten - second grade special education students are. They love to explore and learn new things. But how can a little one learn best? By having the right tools to play and learn with of course. In our adaptive physical education room, we do not have the basic gym materials needed. From scooters to balls to even hula hoops we do not have what we need. My little students love to do their activities hands-on. I am requesting a variety of different materials to turn our gym into a space for them to explore. The use of the yoga mats will help them warm up their bodies before we get down to work. Next the use of the balancing beams as well as obstacle course steps will help in developing the fine motor strengths that will help them achieve structural goals for physical education. Some goals are to catch, throw and pass a ball. Which would then explain the need for the rest of the materials requested. Each item has a purpose to strengthen my students in various ways. From core strength to visual perception any support would be greatly appreciated by all.
