This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach kindergarteners. for most of them, this is their first experience in school. These little learners are so sweet and eager! My students are English language learners. I am working with them to become more independent learners.
I try to make learning fun, and memorable as kindergarten sets the tone for their first educational experiences in a school.
We learn through hands-on activities, games, and a lot of movement. My students love to learn in new ways and enjoy being a part of a small group where skills are broken down for them to be able to understand and master the skill.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds and each has their own unique learning styles. We love to read and write when we're together. As their teacher, I need to think out of the box on how to approach new topics so that my students can understand the teaching point.
My Project
I have a few students who have been affected by Tropical Storm Ida this year. They have been moved out of the homes they have known and moved to places away from their friends and the things they know.
My students are eager, energetic, and adorable students.
Their families have been hit hard by the storm.
I am hoping to give them a package filled with some toiletries, snacks, and some tools that will help them with their learning, such as a dry erase board, crayons, pre-sharpened pencils, books, and notebooks.
No student should go without these necessities. I hope that you will help me bring this project to life. I know my students' families will be appreciative and enjoy the snacks, juice, toiletries, and learning supplies.
