My Project
Help me create a sensory filled, social emotional safe space for my wonderful students. This year, many of my students are living in temporary housing. My wish is to create a space that they can call their own. I want to create a classroom space that promotes joy and helps my students feel safe to learn.
I requested materials such as sensory bins and sensory toys.
These items are calming and great to use when a child is overwhelmed or struggling emotionally. They are also great learning tools and can be used for exploration and sorting. In addition, I requested a rug and a couch. These items will help create the cozy and inviting environment that my students will look forward to learning in. They can cozy up with a book on the rug or couch. They can listen to lesson from the comfort of the cozy couch. I want my students to use my room as a space to heal, connect and learn. I believe the items I requested will be perfect for that.
