My Project
These resources will support my students in their ability to effectively express their needs, wants, and thoughts. As a Speech Language Pathologist it is my job to ensure that every student has a voice. These resources will allow me to make individualized communication resources for students with a wide variety of needs.
Many of my students have special interests and unique characteristics that they are unable to share with others due to a lack of access to communication.
Communication books can contain core vocabulary (I.e., frequent vocabulary used across activities), family member names/pictures, activity specific vocabulary, emergency information, etc. However, many of my students benefit from auditory feedback to assist with picture and word association. That is why communication buttons are a great resources with pictures attached to assist with independence in communicating.
Please help me in supporting my students to ensure that all are able to share their wants/needs, advocate for themselves, indicate when they are feeling unwell, and so much more! Allow them to have the voice they deserve. Thank you!
