My Project
I am a Social Resource teacher. I work with students in grades K-5. My students tend to struggle with social concepts, problem-solving, making and keeping friends, holding sustained conversations, and having reactions that match the size of the problem (this is not an exhaustive list).
Social problem-solving and making social connections can be very challenging for my students.
Having different ways to present problems and find solutions can be beneficial to helping them generalize this to their classrooms, the playground, and at home. Having the "sticky situation cards" for primary and upper grades will be a beneficial addition to the curriculum I teach. It gives specific problems that my students might encounter and encourages discussion and group problem-solving. Magnatiles help with problem-solving skills in a kinesthetic manner. Students encounter various challenges that demand creative solutions and working together in a group. Connect More will support my students in building connections with others and fostering conversations. This also supports building friendships outside of my classroom.
Bright or flickering lights can trigger sensory overload leading to difficulties in concentration and engagement. By incorporating thoughtful lighting with warm white lights, for example, I can better support students' focus, well-being, and overall educational experience.
Having additional ink for a printer can play a crucial role in supporting students with disabilities in their educational journey. For many students having materials in alternative formats is essential for their comprehension and engagement. With extra ink, I am able to have a variety of customized resources, including enlarged text, and visual aids, catering to the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
Thank you for considering my students for your donation.
