My Students
I'm a new teacher committed to creating a classroom community of multilingual learners that are caring, open-minded, principled thinkers who believe in themselves and their peers. I will support these students using positive messages, and modeling clear, respectful communication that they can emulate and imitate as they develop as multilingual learners. I want to celebrate students and their families. This year we will use their culture and backgrounds to identify and learn about ourselves and our community from a global perspective. Students in this school speak over 20 languages. Let's support their English development through the use of hands on activities and project based learning that implement technology. My Project
Students will learn through speaking and listening to the English language. They will create art work, poetry and stories that will be laminated and displayed for their friends and family to see. Imagination learning is the software that will be used. This program is individualized based on students needs. Students will use the iPads to create presentations and develop language skills and access Imagination Learning. These students will develop confidence using English in written and oral form, while understanding how the world works. We will learn about nature, American history, and develop our reading fluency by using the language software developed for English language learners.
