This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The young artists in YADP are amazingly talented inner city children. Many of them live day to day facing unthinkable odds. Neighborhood violence, one parent homes, low income families, etc. However, they still find a way to shine bright and share what makes them beautiful! These kids are stars!

In YADP our talented young artists learn creative writing/spoken word, singing/songwriting, rapping, and dancing.

As the performing arts teacher, I simply help them discover the amazing treasures that they already possess within themselves.

My Project

All the items that YADP will potentially receive from this project will contribute to our creative space. The speaker and the microphone will be used to help the young artist practice with real equipment. The journals will be used for creative writing and the book bags will be used to keep every thing in one place.

I am a firm believer that "hands-on" is the best way to teach anything, especially performing arts!

These items will help me give the young artists of YADP a well-rounded experience in performing arts. The number one goal is to awaken their greatness!
