This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of fifth graders that attend a Title I school, in a Texas school district.

They are made up from a diverse set of backgrounds and include English language learners, special education students, and those receiving free or reduced-price lunches.

While they come from various backgrounds, with various needs, they enjoy engaging and interacting with one another in their learning. Most importantly, my students love coming to school, learning, and being in fifth grade.

My Project

We are asking for school supplies to help us with our learning, this year, in fifth grade. My students are in need of composition notebooks. These notebooks will hold all their notes, resources, and writing as we dig into literacy. We also need lots of glue sticks to glue all these wonderful resources into their literacy notebooks. Lastly, we need copy paper to print all these handout and resources that will go into their notebooks.

My hope, as a teacher, is that, these tools donated to us, will be a resource for my students well beyond fifth grade.

These notebooks will be a tool they can take with them and use as they continue to grow as readers and writers.
