My Students
My students are AMAZING, RESILIENT SCHOLARS! They learn with very little but some things are needed- Supplies! On a typical day, my babies come in and get right to their routine. These routines require them to have the necessary supplies to do activities that allow them to learn!
As a turnaround school, we are blessed to have an amazing staff and administration team ready to change lives.
However, we do not have funds for basic supplies. My babies need to be able to see lots of real world examples of work and literature, on a daily basis! In addition, they need basic supplies in order to process!
My babies come from a low-income, high need part of Chicago. They deserve the best in education and that starts with the teachers. As a turnaround school, we start from scratch, so every item I receive is truly valued. Having basic school supplies for the classroom will allow us to finish the year strong!
My Project
These materials will be learned to write, process, share examples on the board. We are in the process of really learning how to respond to reading and pen and paper are needed for this in order to WRITE! We also use folders to teach organization and get our students ready for high school!
To say school supplies will change a student's life sounds silly, but in reality, they do!
As a teacher, I put every spare dollar into my classroom and by the end of the year I am down to my last pennies. Having some help will lighten my load and make me a more present, focused teacher!
