This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am filled with excitement to start this school year with the opportunity to loop up with my class. My students will begin the year with a feeling of comfort and confidence knowing we are all together again. Each one has a great big heart to help one another and never give up, even if a task is difficult. As second graders, they worked with one another so well, and now as third graders, they will continue to shine.
My main goal is to build their literacy skill to where they have the ability to use their critical thinking effectively in all subjects.
To achieve this, we want to put in place resources to support their everyday learning and have the basic but essential supplies needed each day. With your support, we can start the year ready with daily supplies and some literacy-based activities for independent or small groups. My kids love working together to explain their thinking with partners, which would give them more flexible seating options with the cushions.
By looping up, I get to start the year running because I'll know their level from day one. The gift card will provide a vast library of digital and/or printable materials that will build my students' comprehension, vocabulary development, and their ability to express themselves in writing.
