My project needs general classroom supplies to keep our class clean and prepared for work.

This project is fully funded

I am an 8th grade English teacher in a Public Charter School in the District of Columbia. The school is in an Urban Environment where 80% of the students receive free lunch and breakfast. They think that no one (the school, their parents, their families or friends) care about them. Unfortunately for some this is the case. My school tries very hard to provide classrooms and students with everything that they need because we know that some students can't afford additional supplies (markers, paper towels, tissue, stickers, pencil sharpeners, paper, sheet protectors and folders etc....). We try not to add any extra burden to parents and students by sending homes letters asking for things we know we aren't going to receive. We rely on donors, a select group of parents, and teachers that can contribute and administration to provide these essential student supplies. This past year I have made milestones with my students. Those who were failing with F's in the 7th grade and the first quarter of the 8th grade now have C's, B's and even A's. This fall I would like to continue this, but my classroom needs general supplies for the students. This request may seem simple, but it is the simple things that can lead to success.
