Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a Title One School, we are located in a low income neighborhood. They are eager to learn but lack the necessary supplies. School starts in August and parents struggle to purchase supplies or even uniforms.
My students are hungry, not for food, but for knowledge.
They come to school with hopes and dreams. I want to enhance their dreams by increasing their knowledge. Fifth grade is a crossroads for my students as they are on their way to middle school. My students enjoy working on workstations.
My Project
Pencils and color pens will be use to organize our notes. In math, we use an interacting notebook to keep our notes organized. I keep one just like the students, we use color pens to color code our journals. I use a projector to display my journal and have students copy.
I have five groups in my classroom and I am requesting a tape dispenser to place one per table; I currently don't have enough.
We use tape to add notes in our journal. Also, I am in need of storage boxes. I will use them to store students daily supplies. The key to success is to stay organized.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
