My students enter the music classroom 1-2 times a week for a total of 60 minutes per week. They enter ready to explore learning in a different way than the usual classroom experience. These students need the break from their regular learning experiences. They need to free their brains and have a break while at the same time learning about music.
The work of children is play.
- Carl Orff
I believe this is true, and we see it every day. Children learn how to cooperate, care, lead, follow, and be the best person they can be every time they play and work with others.
My Project
These supplies will be used during music time for students to show their understanding of musical concepts. The dry erase markers need to be replenished for students to be able to write musical notation and ideas for others to understand.
Students want and need to move.
What better way than to have them collaborate to show musical form with parachutes! This allows students to visually and physically see the music in a different way. Kinesthetically!
The rainbow stickers will be an incentive for participation and engagement. Kids love stickers! The Kleenexes are always needed for my students to protect others from sneezes and keep sleeves clean!
