This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have come into high school behind grade level. But these students are not quitters. We have a strong culture of achievement,and encourage all students to prepare for and apply to college.

Were you to walk down the halls of my school, you might think you are in the United Nations.

We have students from five continents (and more than that number of islands) representing a diverse array of languages and cultures. My students are a mix of new immigrants and native born Americans. All of them want to succeed.

My Project

The requested supplies, pocket folders, tracing paper, air dusters, file storage crates, and color pencils, will fill in the gaps in my classroom materials. As a teacher in an urban, high-needs, school, I often find that I need a few more things to fill out the materials lists for my students.

I try to make sure a lack of supplies won't hold my students back, and as much as possible, I try to introduce technology and real-world situations to their studies.

By funding this project, you will help my students get ready for the world. My students are trying to bridge the achievement gap. They are making a mighty effort despite all they must overcome. Thank you for considering my proposal.
