My Students

My students spend a lot of time creating evidence of their learning. They must make a product at least once per quarter that demonstrates their understanding of the concepts from the recent units.

These students care deeply about education and are invested in their own learning.

They also put a lot of energy in to creating and maintaining a caring community. Everyone in our community chooses to learn together and to face the challenges of life in an urban environment together. Most students live in poverty and/or other difficult home situations that make it hard for them to focus on their education, yet they show up every day and do their best.

My Project

These supplies(scissors, rulers, compasses, protractors, pencil sharpeners, mirrors, pencils, graph paper, lined paper, poster board, etc..) will help students create meaningful learning moments. Students will be able to connect Geometry and Physics by measuring angles created by mirrored images. Students will also be able to explore properties of angles, line segments and points by folding origami paper. Students will also be able to accurately measure with a variety of tools and record their data on graph paper.

Your donation will support learning for years to come as students get their hands on math.

They'll get a chance to explore math in the world around them as they use all of these tools.
