Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher at a Title 1 school in an under-served community in the South Bronx. The children in my class love to learn new things and are working very hard. My class is self-contained and consists of students in grades K, 1 and 2. They all learn differently and all need extra support throughout the day. Most of my students are visual and multi sensory learners. My students are enthusiastic about learning and enjoy the arts very much. I encourage my students daily to try their best at whatever they do because that is what is most important during their learning.
I am extremely proud of my students and all that they have accomplished thus far.
I have had students who started with me as non-readers and now have moved up three reading levels. I will continue to work hard to push my students to their fullest potential because I believe that anything is possible no matter what the circumstances.
My Project
I am requesting these supplies because they are essential in every day use by my students and their learning. My students enjoy working with art and need to work on projects that are hands-on learning. The colored paper will be used as part of my art center to facilitate art projects as well as for beautifying our classroom bulletin boards. The laminator will be used to laminate all the materials for our literacy and math centers so that they can be reused daily without being torn apart. The printer will be used to print pictures of my students while they are working or on trips to show student engagement and display their wonderful, hard work.
I would be extremely grateful for anything that I receive that will benefit my lifelong learners.
