This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At this time of year, we are running low on many supplies we need in our classroom.

School supplies are essential in a classroom because they provide students and teachers with the tools they need for learning and teaching.

My students are language learners from different cultural and economic backgrounds. Like most teachers, I spend a lot of my own money to provide my students with the supplies they need.

The chart paper, permanent markers, dry erase markers, pencils, and Post-it notes are supplies that we run out of quickly as we use these materials every day. One important item that we use almost daily are whiteboards. My students come to the rug with whiteboards for guided and independent practice. Whiteboards provide a place for my students to practice their writing and also allows me to monitor what they are doing. Overtime our whiteboards have become damaged in ways that make them difficult for my students to use.

My goal is to make sure that my students have what they need to learn and be successful.
