My Project

I teach at a Title I school in which 76% of my students qualify for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. About 40% of my students are English Language Learners (ELL). Although many of my students face adversity, their challenges do not define their ability to learn and be successful students.

Due to teaching in a lower-income community, I want to relieve the burden of my students' families having to purchase expensive school supplies for their children by providing them with what they need for a successful school year.

I want to provide a safe, nurturing, engaging, and challenging learning environment for my students during one of the most important years of their school experience. As a Kindergarten teacher, it is my responsibility to provide an enriching foundation for my students to help them to be successful in their future years of schooling.

To help prepare for a new school, I am in need of new school supplies such as glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, folders, and staples. New supplies will get students excited for a new school year! In addition, these resources will allow me the opportunity to create additional engaging and hands-on activities and crafts to make learning more fun for my Kindergarten students.

By supporting this project, you can help instill a lifelong love of learning in my students. In addition, your support will help me provide my students with the learning experiences that each of them need to be prepared for first grade.
