My Students

I am lucky enough to teach in a Special Education resource room in an elementary school. Throughout the day, I service 39+ students in the subjects of math, reading, writing, and mental health skills. I also provide support to classroom teachers who have students who are struggling academically and emotionally with grade level curriculum. Daily we provide small group settings with individualized education programs.

Our students struggle academically and emotionally, however I try to focus on their individual strengths while encouraging them to learn from their mistakes and from their fellow classmates.

We move at a slower pace with more repetition to help struggling students grasp difficult concepts.

My Project

My students are having a hard time adjusting to a regular classroom setting. My goal is to engage them during instruction and help them enjoy school again! With these materials and different levels and supplies, my goal is to draw them into what we are learning and get them excited about school. My students need the sensory input so they are less districted by the world around them. They have missed so much because of the pandemic. I need your help to help them adjust and learn normalcy!
