Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is my first year teaching. The school I work at is a Title I school located in Queens. The children receive free breakfast and lunch.

We have a very diverse population of students at the school.

Fifty percent of my students are ELLs who all come from different backgrounds. Also, thirty percent are below grade level in reading. Even though my pupils face either speaking, writing or reading challenges, they are still trying every day to achieve their academic goals.

My Project

Our students needs will be met as we will be better able to differentiate. Their materials will be easily accessible right at their table for use when needed.

Crates allow for student organization and also flexible seating.

The crates during independent time will also give students a chance to pick where they would like to sit.

The stools will help the students be able to work at the kidney table for small groups. The stools will also help the students work in groups together.

The erasers and pencils will be a good incentive to achieve their goals in the classroom. It will be beneficial for the students in the classroom to receive all these materials because it will reach all of their needs for their academics.
