Supplies Needed to Keep Our Classroom Safe

Help me give my students a UV Light Sanitizer Wand, adjustable chart stand, timers, jumbo book bags and take home pouches to keep our classroom safe and germ free.

My Students

I have about 36 4th grade general and special needs students that are all from the inner city of Brooklyn. Some of my students are classified as intellectually delayed and function well below their age/grade level, some have emotional disturbance and need extra support in the classroom.

My students are eager to learn.

I want their experience; whether it is blended or 100% remote to feel welcoming, safe, and fun. This will be the first time they are in school since the pandemic started.

My Project

I teach in an ICT classroom where 40% of my students are special needs. Since the pandemic, we've been practicing social distancing and showed videos on how to properly wash their hands. It is very important that my students understand what it means to properly keep their hands, personal space, and personal belonging clean. With a UV wand, my students will be able to see the germs on their hands, desk, and personal belonging if it is not cleaned properly. The chart stand will be helpful to hang up poster and visual aids of proper cleaning techniques. The timer will help them monitor the 20 seconds of hand washing at the sink or when they go to the restroom. The book bags will help them keep their personal belongings in one area and the take home pouches will help them organize their school supplies at home.

I want to make sure and stress how important cleanliness and hand washing is by continuing to show them how to utilize these tools to keep them and us safe.
