This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help! We don't have anything to hang our pocket charts on. Pocket charts are needed for us to practice vocabulary, spelling, etc. interactively.
My students are from New York City.
They come from high poverty homes. The school has lost a large amount of funding. The students are wonderful 3rd graders who are eager to learn and love to read. The class is made up of special education students and general education students. It is a collaborative teaching class.
My Project
The pocket chart stands will allow students to get up and place cards in the pocket charts, they will also be used for center activities. The mobile learning center will also be used for literacy centers and interactive learning. It will also allow me to hold open a picture book during read aloud so that all the children can see.
This is important to my students because they need all the materials possible to learn.
The materials they have, the more opportunities they will have to learn and succeed. Please help these students to receive the materials that they need in their classroom to have a successful and enjoyable learning experience.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
