This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend an elementary school in Kensington. These children live in a rough, crime-ridden neighborhood. One hundred percent of the students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch every day. Despite all of this, they come to school every day still eager to learn. Many of our parents struggle to purchase the school supplies their children need for school. I wish to make the stressful supply-buying time for families easier by having supplies in my classroom for students to be able to use daily.

My Project

My students come from an impoverished, crime-ridden, violent area. My students come to school everyday eager and ready to learn; however, many of them are without the necessary supplies needed for success. The school supplies I am asking for basic supplies including: notebooks, folders, colored pencils, crayons, glue sticks, index cards, pencil cases, erasers and pencils. Every student deserves new supplies for the start of a new school year. These supplies will help my students be ready and well-equipped to tackle a new school year in the fall.

Giving my students this gift will help them have all the basic and necessary supplies needed to be successful throughout the school year.

I am hoping to make this school year the best year ever!
