My Students

I teach in a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch each day. My students come from diverse backgrounds and have many different learning styles. Our school is a close knit family, and our students quickly become a part of that. I believe relationships are key in helping me meet my students where they are and move them to the next level.

Many of my fifth graders are beginning to set serious goals about their futures.

It is important to me to value those goals and help them realize, even at a young age, what it takes to achieve them.

My Project

Many of my students come in each day without the basic tools they need to complete their work in class. I find myself constantly buying pencils, erasers, and dry erase markers so that my students will have what they need to be successful.

Students need to be able to learn without worrying whether or not they have basic supplies.

When I begin a lesson, I do not want to waste time making sure there are ample materials. I want my students to be able to jump right into learning. Please consider supporting this project by providing some of the most basic classroom supplies we so desperately need!
