Help me give my students basic supplies needed to complete assignments. The dry erase board and markers will allow students to complete work and save paper. We will use it for Reading, Writing and Math!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in one of the toughest areas of Los Angeles known as Watts. They have many socioeconomic problems in their lives and many are foster children yet they are as eager to learn as all the children of the world.
My students are Kindergartners in a Dual Language Program in a Title 1 school.
Title 1 schools are those schools that have low income families. They learn to read and write in both English and Spanish.
I love the fact that my students love to learn and are excited about any learning opportunity they are given. In spite of their hardships, they are very caring and enjoy school.
My Project
These materials will help my students during their Zoom lessons. We will be using them for all subject areas. We will practice counting and writing. My students will finish homework assignments and grow academically.
It is important for my low income students be motivated about school during these hard times.
I believe these basic supplies can help them. They must be encouraged most especially as this is their first experience in school online! I will engage them in daily lessons where they need to respond to my questions and these supplies will help them do so.
