Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have 10 incredible students who are disabled and in a self-contained classroom. These students also come from low-income families. I have developed a special relationship with my students in order to meet their individual academic, social-emotional and behavioral needs. The students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them the past few years with learning online, in person and hybrid. They are not only surviving through these challenges but they are thriving. They work super hard and are eager to learn.

Help my students continue to thrive with these essential materials that will foster independence, social emotional, and self regulation skills.

The sensory items such as: the giant sensory tiles, bubble tube, playdoh, chewy necklaces and sensory brushes will allow my students an opportunity to appropriately self regulate when feeling mad or sad. The Little Sport educator's guide will allow me to teach lessons on feelings and self regulation to better support their emotional needs. Each of these items will be greatly appreciated as our students are learning to navigate the challenges and changes that have taken place the last couple of years.
