Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher in an urban community. My students are very diverse in their ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. They are also very diverse in their educational experiences. Many of my students have never been to school before.

The one thing they all have in common is their eagerness to learn!

Every day my students come to school with smiles on their faces. With all the challenges they face both in and out of school, they come ready to learn and "do work they are proud of!"

My Project

I am requesting basic classroom supplies, such as crayons, erasers, dry erase markers, glue sticks and scissors. My students will use the materials across the curriculum in reading, writing, math and science. The crayons will be used as my students show their creativity. The dry erase markers will be used during whole group phonics instruction as well as during math and literacy centers. I am also requesting a laminator and laminating sheets to make math and literacy center games to enhance student learning.

Help me get my classroom ready for September!!

My students will not have to worry about not having supplies to get them through the day. They will also know that the supplies are readily available and easy to access when needed.
