Help me give my students the school supplies they need to be successful! Not all of my students have access to basic school supplies. The most expensive items are for the supplies that the students will share.

My Students
My middle school students' home lives are diverse. Some of my students have school supplies for the entire school year and have extra to lend their classmates, but not all of my students have basic school supplies. Some of them have supplies at the beginning of the year but are unable to replace them when their supplies run out. I normally stock up on school supplies at the summer school sales. Many of the students get their supplies from me at the beginning of the year because of the lack of stores in their neighborhoods.
Lack of materials should not interfere with my students' education!
My school is a Title I school where the students receive free and reduced-price breakfast and lunches. My students are motivated to attend the magnet high schools in our area, but not all of them have the supports necessary. There are times when not having a writing utensil or a notebook can affect their confidence which can affect their motivation to complete an assignment. My students deserve better!
My Project
My project will equip my students with basic school supplies, so they can complete school and home assignments. The notebooks, writing utensils, and coloring pencils and crayons are for the students to create their own Interactive Science Notebooks. In the Interactive Notebook the students take notes on the right hand side of the notebook from the teacher, videos, presentations. The left hand side is where the students demonstrate their understanding of the notes. The glue and tape are for the lessons where the students glue interactive sheets into their notebooks.
These materials will allow my students to create their own scientific notebook just like real scientist!
There are several reasons for the use of interactive notebooks. The notebooks keep the students organized, it allows them to be creative, it allows the students to synthesize the information they were taught, and it allows the teacher to see growth or deficits within a student simply by taking a glance at the notebook.
