My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income school district, where my students deal with many different challenges both in and out of the classroom on a daily basis. Many of my students are raised in single parent homes, and are exposed to environmental factors, which prevent them from experiencing what many would consider a typical childhood/educational experience.

As a self contained classroom teacher in elementary school, I am often the most consistent adult in my students' lives.

It is my goal to make my classroom a safe community, where my students are provided with experiences and opportunities to enrich their lives and enhance their educational experiences.

My Project

Most of my students come from low income backgrounds, and often have a difficult time affording basic supplies needed in school. The materials listed in my project will help to ensure that all of my students have the materials they need to be successful in third grade. They will have bins for all of their belongings, as well as pencils and crayons to complete daily classroom work. The headphones will allow my students who don't have headphones to be successful with their daily iPad work to improve both math and reading skills. All my kids will use these materials to help them do their very best in school!
