Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to come to school and they love to learn. However, teaching in a low-income area where over ninety-five percent of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch, basic supplies, technology, and differentiated supplies are not easily available to them. With all that said, each morning I am greeted by twenty-five eager learners with wonderful smiles who keep me smiling all day long and who want to learn.

The barriers my students need to hurdle are vast.

My second graders attend a public school in an urban district. . My students are full of energy and ready to learn! My students are very creative and ready to display their knowledge and work.

My Project

It's crazy to believe but the end of the schools year is quickly approaching! With the end of the year brings field trips. I would love be able to dye shirts blue and allow the students to decorate them so that they could wear them on the trip. Not only will this be a great keepsake for the students, but it will also make it much easier to spot them in public!

We will begin learning about plants in science next month. I am asking for seeds, soil and pots that way the students can get a hands-on experience of plants seeds and watching the process of them grow! The bubbles will also be used for a science experiment that the students will be completing in a few weeks!
