My Students

Fifth grade is an important grade, because it is when they start to become individuals and really begin to think about who they want to become. They may not be ready to choose a career path, but are deciding if they are going to give it their all to do well in school, sports, and friendships. My students give it their all, all day, every day! Technology helps me motivate them!

Unfortunately, our school receives very little funding for resources like technology and technology-related supplies.

We do the best we can, to share among classes, but the continuous use of technology, daily, will help them become more proficient and motivated. Help me, help them!

My Project

Students often come to school without school supplies such as sharpened pencils, highlighters, folders, notebooks, and other necessary supplies. I purchase hundreds of dollars worth of supplies every summer when they are on sale to stock up for the school year, but I am wiped out of supplies to give to the children. Standardized testing is coming up in a few weeks and I would like to give all of my students fresh pencils, sharpeners, and highlighters before the tests. I also requested folders and a classroom sharpener. Many of the students' folders are ripped and falling apart and need new folders. I try to replace folders for them as needed, but I am running out of them as well. I was also hoping to get a classroom sharpener so the children can sharpen their pencils before and after school so they are set for classwork and homework for the day since they little ones find themselves missing after awhile.
