My Students
HMS consists of some of the most inquisitive, friendliest students in South Carolina. The majority of them come from low or middle income families and receive free/reduced lunch. As a result, many come from families that are unable to provide supplies regularly.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds but the one thing they all have in common is their need for differentiation.
As a 7th grade inclusion teacher, I am constantly working with students with varying abilities, learning styles, and academic needs. They have the desire to do well and are eager to please.
My Project
Many of my students come from low-income backgrounds. Now that we're at the end of the school year, many are struggling to purchase and maintain supplies, such as pencils, eraser, and notebook paper. Knowing this, I keep many supplies to fulfill those needs.
Because of these financial hardships, I want to ensure all students have the supplies they need to be successful in all classes.
This eliminates the need to ask classmates and take away from instructional time. Your help in funding this project would allow my students to have the supplies they need when their families may not be able to do so.
