My students need supplies including ink cartridges, plastic folders, Velcro, markers and stickers to improve their social and emotional learning.

My Students

My students all have various disabilities, but they don't let those disabilities hold them back. I teach social skills and emotion management to 50 students, kindergarten through sixth grade; we call it "heart learning."

My students are amazing learners who face challenges at home and at school due to various obstacles.

Despite these many challenges, my students come to school excited and ready to learn. My students love to move, love to play, and love to experience new things. My students do best when offered opportunities to learn that are tailored to their unique needs.

My Project

My students are in need of supplies in order to make each of their learning experiences unique. My students who need extra support when it comes to their behavior will use the plastic folders to hold daily behavior monitoring sheets to travel between home and school. My students who need visual schedules will use the Velcro dots to hold their picture schedules. My students who need visual learning opportunities will use the markers on a daily basis to create pictures and posters to represent their learning. We will use lamination to preserve their work and file folders to keep ourselves organized. These materials will allow me to differentiate to the needs of each of my students.

Not everything in a classroom is glamorous, but basic supplies are just as important as fancy new technology.

The resources from this project will make my time with students more functional which will automatically improve learning outcomes for my amazing kids.
