My Project

I teach a wonderful group of students in a 6:1:1 special education classroom. Each of my students has unique learning needs and benefits from individualized support, structure, and engaging materials. They are creative, determined, and curious. What they all have in common is their eagerness to learn—especially when the learning is hands-on and meaningful.

My Project:

This project will help bring essential math tools into our classroom to support foundational skills like counting, number recognition, place value, addition, and subtraction. I am requesting math manipulatives such as counting cubes, ten frames, number lines, base-ten blocks, and math games. These supplies will allow my students to see, touch, and explore math concepts in a concrete and accessible way.

For many of my students, traditional worksheets and abstract numbers can feel overwhelming. But when they are given the right tools—like colorful counters, visual number charts, and tactile shapes—they light up with understanding. These math materials will make learning feel like play, and help build both skills and confidence.

Why It Matters:

Students in a 6:1:1 setting often need extra repetition, sensory input, and visual supports to truly grasp math concepts. Your donation will provide the resources we need to meet them where they are and help them grow. With these tools, my students will be able to engage more deeply, learn more independently, and feel proud of what they can do.
