My Students
Hi! I teach 27 first graders at an all girls charter school in the South Bronx. Due to the current shutdown of our school, my students are at home receiving live instruction from me. They all have a tablet that was given to them by the school and some of my kids have a computer. Otherwise, my students would not have the adequate technology and supplies for learning at home. I have had to send them supplies and work packets through snail mail throughout these last two months.
My Project
Th future of our new school year is still up in the air. I am not sure if my students will be learning remotely or if they will be in school or if it will be a little of both. One thing that is certain is that we will no longer have shared supplies. We need to ensure that supplies are only touched by the person using it so as to avoid spreading any germs. For this reason, I am asking for individual pencil pouches and crayons and markers. Each student will have their own pencil pouch filled with the supplies they need for a great school experience. I will mail these pouches out at the beginning of the school year so students will have what they need whether they are at home learning remotely or in the school building.
