This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials and supplies I am requesting for my classrooms will support student success in a variety of ways. Students want to be successful, however there are many students who struggle with basic supplies and having what they need for class everyday. I would like to create a student supply center, so students know they will always have the materials necessary for class! Pencils and erasers are necessary to learning in school, and in our current economy many families struggle with the cost of school supplies. Creativity and conversation will flow with chart paper and markers, and other basic classroom supplies.

Struggling learners utilize anchor charts around the classroom to help their comprehension of the target language.

My students want to increase their proficiency and communication skills but many lack the confidence to speak in class as they are unsure how to word their thoughts. I would like to create a variety of anchor charts to display in my classroom, the chart markers and Post-It chart paper will allow me to create visually appealing anchor charts that students use daily during instruction, independent work and conversations with peers in the target language.

Finally, as a teacher who teaches multiple grade levels and teams of students, there are many students who are in and out of the classroom daily. Tissues will help seasonal allergies and runny noses. Tissues in the classroom help cut down frequent trips to the bathroom to blow noses.

My students are amazing. They want to be successful, they work their hardest everyday and have the desire to improve in their Spanish language skills. These materials which may seem basic to many, will be appreciated by all of my students and will aid in their academic success.
